Fort Myers Beach is known for it's beautiful white sugar sand beaches and famous swimming beaches since there is little or no undertow. Family oriented activities abound. Besides swimming and fishing you can, para-sail, kayak, or rent a boat and explore the shell mounds of Dog Key and Mound Key located in Estero Bay. The Caloosa Indians first inhabited Fort Myers Beach and the shell mounds they created are great archeological sites.
